About Us

Nizhoni Mind Tele-Psychiatry is more than a mental health practice; it’s a community of care dedicated to the people of New Mexico, with a special focus on serving rural and underserved populations. Rooted in compassion and cultural sensitivity, our name “Nizhoni” – a Navajo word for “beautiful” or “in harmony” – reflects our mission to help each find peace, healing, and balance in their lives. We understand the unique challenges faced by many in New Mexico, especially minorities who have historically been underserved in mental health care. Our commitment is to provide equitable, accessible, and personalized support to everyone who needs it.

Joyce Sanni, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, founded Nizhoni Mind Tele-Psychiatry out of a deep passion for mental health care. With 30 years of patient care experience, Joyce believes that everyone deserves compassionate, high-quality care regardless of where they live or their circumstances. She brings her warmth, expertise, and genuine empathy to each patient interaction, ensuring they feel valued, understood, and supported on their journey to wellness.

At Nizhoni Mind, we aim to break down barriers to mental health care, offering telehealth services that bring expert psychiatric support directly to patients’ homes. Whether addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental health needs, our approach is holistic, inclusive, and grounded in the belief that every individual has the potential to heal and thrive.
